The National and Rural Education Association has started a Higher school during the year 1943 under the leadership of G.A Acharya as a President of N&REA advised byM.S.Srinivas Iyangar. This association started Acharya Pre- University College, Acharya English Higher Primary School, Acharya Job-Oriented College, Acharya Diploma in Education College and also Acharya First Grade College for Women simultaneously. The Acharya First Grade College for Women Gowribidanur started by the management during the year 1982-83 under the leadership of Srinivasa Iyangar as a Secretary of N&REA, advised by Sri B.N Ramaiah as a Principal of the College.
Bangalore University college Development council has given permission to start BA/B.Com degree course to our institution in the year 1982 our college is Grant-in-aid College administrated by management under the control of Collegiate Education Department Govt. of Karnataka Bangalore.
It was accredited ‘B’ Grade by NAAC during the year 2005. And it was also included 2(7) and 12(B) as per the UGC Act. Our college was started with minimum strength and at present more than 700 women students were studying in this institution. But now it has grown it into an esteemed institution. Most of the students come from socially and economically backward communities. So our vision is to provide global quality education to the unreached. In this institution having excellent teaching by highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty with an average teaching experience of 28 to 30 years.
